Lionel Messi is already causing havoc in the MLS, and it has only been a few months since he joined Inter-Miami this summer. Football fans have been excited to see what he is about to bring to the club. While Messi continues his journey by leaving his European football legacy behind, he may not be going to leave his ex-teammates so soon.

With the signing of Jordi Alba at Inter-Miami, Messi gets to work with his Barcelona teammate whom he shared almost a decade with. Messi told Catalunya Radio that “Jordi Alba knows me to perfection. I have a special connection with him.” (H/T: FC Barcelona)

According to statements from Inter-Miami CF, “The one-time UEFA Euro winner, UEFA Champions League winner, UEFA Nations League winner, and six-time LaLiga winner, regarded as one of the world’s best left-backs, is expected to join the team in the coming days.”

As Alba has started his official training with Inter-Miami, it will only be a matter of time before he joins Messi and his old teammate Sergio Busquets for their matches at DRV PNK Stadium. This will give football fans their chance to see Messi, Alba, and Busquests, once again after their glorious Barcelona days.

Jorge Mas, co-owner of Inter-Miami CF, has expressed his desire in helping Messi get a proper goodbye from his club FC Barcelona. Jorge Mas while speaking in the Offside with Taylor Twellman podcast revealed that the American club will help Messi return to Camp Nou in some capacity.

“That does not entail playing for Barcelona. He’s not going to go on loan there. That’s not going to happen,” stated Mas. Even though Messi will be visiting the Camp Nou, sadly for the Barca fans, he will not be joining their beloved team. It will just be for one final goodbye.

However, any updates of the official goodbye are not near as Camp Nou has gone under construction. Following the renovation will provide Messi the chance to say his official goodbye to Camp Nou.

Football fans are excited to see Messi’s journey in MLS. With old teammates, Busquets and Alba joining the Inter-Miami team, Barcelona fans will specifically get the chance to see the trio together, once again.
