Netflix and Amazon prime going all out to win rights for Manchester United’s 2022-23 season documentary: Reports
A fly-on-the-wall documentary about Manchester United is apparently the subject of a bidding war between streaming goliaths Netflix and Amazon Prime. It follows the success of Netflix’s Sunderland Till I Die and Amazon’s All Or Nothing series, which has starred Arsenal, Manchester City, and Tottenham.
The recent events at Old Trafford would have provided a film crew with lots of drama, including dramatic game results, a controversy around Cristiano Ronaldo’s future, and a management who was having trouble bringing in new players. According to claims in the Sun, Barcelona is also a target, and Amazon Prime and Netflix are both willing to spend “millions” to obtain a United documentary.
An anonymous source was quoted in the Sun saying: “Fly-on-the-wall football shows are very much in fashion at the moment and Amazon and Netflix want to show more and more of them. So far United haven’t given the idea the green light. But the interest remains strong and is unlikely to go away.“
“Producers have made great play of the fact that a programme would be a chance for the directors to show a different side to their role at the club, much like the way Arsenal’s owners did in All or Nothing.“

Manchester United’s start to this season has been similar to that of Arsenal’s documented 2021-22 season
All or Nothing: Arsenal, an eight-part documentary that offers fans unprecedented access to players and staff for the 2021/22 season on Amazon Prime, has received widespread critical acclaim.
Manchester United’s season thus far has followed a similar course to that of Arsenal’s documentary from the previous year, with a disastrous start and stunning victories. As they attempt to save their season, Red Devils supporters will be hopeful that the recent improvement in results may convert into something more tangible.
