In a thrilling encounter between Manchester United and Galatasaray that ended in a 3-3 draw, a video of United’s Antony apologizing to Galatasaray fans went viral, sparking both positive and negative reactions on social media. This followed Alejandro Garnacho‘s ‘Calma’ celebration, which angered the Turkish fans after he scored the opening goal.
The young Argentine opened the scoring for United in their crucial Champions League group-stage match against the Turkish giants. However, after scoring the goal, he emulated Cristiano Ronaldo‘s iconic ‘Calma’ celebration in front of the home fans, which left them upset at the player. Things turned a bit chaotic until Antony stepped in to mitigate the situation.
The Brazilian winger apologized for the young United forward who was celebrating a goal. Antony’s sportsmanship was praised by Galatasaray fans and Turkish media but not so much by the netizens.

Fans troll Antony despite a respectful gesture
While Antony received heaps of praise after he apologized to angry Galatasaray fans, some of the fans also took it as an opportunity to banter the player for his high value but poor run of form leading to poor returns.
