Neymar in Barcelona court to testify for the fraud trial
Neymar Jr., a star for Paris Saint-Germain, arrived in Barcelona court today to testify in a trial for fraud and corruption involving his nearly ten-year transfer from the prestigious Brazilian club Santos to the highly rated LaLiga team Barcelona. Everyone involved in the case was urged to stick around for the conclusion.
After a while, Neymar was permitted to leave the field because he had a match against Paris Saint-Germain the previous evening. Also disallowed was work-doing against the defendants. Neymar and his dad were accused in the case. In this instance, Neymar hid the true transfer sum received from Barcelona.
In the trial that started on Monday and was anticipated to last at least until next week, Neymar’s mother, former Barcelona presidents Sandro Rosell and Josep Bartomeu, as well as representatives of both clubs, were also scheduled to appear in court. When the prosecutor announced his charges, the situation also took a serious turn.
Neymar, a Brazilian football player, and his father were charged with corruption, and the prosecution requested a prison term of up to two years; however, any sentence up to that point would probably be suspended. Additionally, the prosecution is requesting a 10 million euro fine for Neymar and his father.

Neymar faces fraud trial
They encountered issues with Spain’s tax authority in 2013, the year Neymar joined the Spanish team Barcelona. Investment firm DIS claimed it was due 40% of Neymar’s transfer but actually received less money since some of the transfer fee was hidden.
Neymar and his father were charged by DIS with corruption and fraud, and they demanded a five-year prison sentence as well as monetary damages. Although it occurred ten years ago, the situation still appears to be somewhat out of control. Everyone wants to know what will happen next as the complications reach their climax.
