Due to an anterior cruciate ligament and meniscus tear, Neymar Jr. will be forced to miss the entire season. He’s been giving his time to recovery and rehabilitation, he hasn’t been seen with a football since October. With problems in his personal and professional life, things have been tough for him.
Recently he attended an event and when pictures of him went viral, fans lost their minds. The pictures made it look like the Brazilian had gained a lot of weight, making him look extremely overweight. Fans received the shocks of their lives, as the winger was usually pretty slim and lean.

Now the winger has come out and proved that there was more than meets the eye. He posted an Instagram story while at home. He talked about how he was not fat and then pulled his shirt up to prove he was not overweight. He later called out the people who mocked him and asked them to “give it up”.
Okay, overweight. But fat? I don't think so! Take it, haters! Give it up or run away.Neymar’s response
Neymar has missed Al Hilal’s previous 27 matches due to his injury. He has been deregistered by the club as he was not playing, but he will return by mid-2024 to football. He joined the Saudi club in the summer of 2023, but managed to play only 5 games before being ruled out due to injury.
Neymar’s path to recovery
Neymar ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament and meniscus in October while playing a 2026 World Cup qualification match for Brazil. As it is with most injuries related to the ACL and meniscus, it takes months to recover. Firstly there’s the surgery where they replace the damaged ligament with a graft. Then the patient needs to undergo rehabilitation before returning to full fitness.

Sadly the recovery was tough for Neymar, and he posted videos of recovery back to full fitness. In the videos he uploaded of his recovery and rehab, he is often seen shouting in pain and sometimes in tears. Currently he can walk properly without any aids.
After getting injured three months ago, Neymar still has some time to return to full fitness and return to football. He will return at the start of the 2024/25 season, with him returning back to the Al Hilal squad.
