Neymar joining Chelsea will make the Premier League a “big circus” yet again, feels former football player
Neymar Jr.
Former Chelsea player and ESPN pundit Craig Burley is not rooting for Neymar to sign for the Blues. He says that signing the Brazilian would make things more chaotic and referred to the Chelsea squad as a “big circus”.
He said: “The whole thing last season became one big circus and if they want that to continue, bring in Neymar. He can walk along with the trapeze while all the others are being shot out of the canons!”
Romelu Lukaku was signed for a massive fee last season and ended up being one of the most unsuccessful signings the London club has made. He rejoined Inter Milan on a loan move last week.
Neymar has been linked to a move to the premier league, with Newcastle and Chelsea as potential destinations.
Neymar is eyeing a move away from Paris Saint-Germain:
According to sources who spoke to ESPN, Neymar is thinking of leaving Paris Saint-Germain this summer after learning that the team is okay with him leaving.
In order to create a major impression in the transfer market this summer, new owner Todd Boehly has been in touch with Chelsea, one of the few teams capable of signing Neymar.
Thiago Silva, a close friend, and teammate of Neymar’s from Brazil has advocated for Neymar to join him at Stamford Bridge. The 30-year-interest old’s in joining Chelsea and Thomas Tuchel is still up in the air, though. Pini Zahavi, Neymar’s agent, is searching for further possible suitors but is aware that only two or three teams could match Neymar’s PSG salary.
Neymar has five years left on a new contract he signed with PSG a year ago, with a yearly salary of €43 million gross (before bonuses). A condition that was reportedly activated would have extended the contract until 2027.
In order to restructure their club and shift their attitude away from star players toward a team spirit, PSG is open to Neymar’s departure. Since Kylian Mbappe unexpectedly chose to reject Real Madrid and sign a new deal, he will be the center of attention for the project.
