Al-Hilal star Neymar Jr. is no stranger to the spotlight. The $250 million Brazilian superstar is currently nursing a major ligament and meniscus tear. However, that did not stop him from keeping up with his lifestyle off the pitch. The 31-year-old’s most recent social media venture was a haircut. It was only a month ago that the player had social media in splits after going bald following a major setback to his season.

Neymar picked up a serious injury against Uruguay back in October. The player sustained a serious injury to his left knee and meniscus and subsequently underwent surgery. Initial reports state that the Brazilian will not take to the pitch before June/July, in time for the 2024 Copa America. He only managed to accumulate a total of 5 appearances for the Saudi outfit, causing frustration among fans.

A video showing the player getting a fresh ‘trim’ has been taken up by fans on Twitter. Neymar has grown out his beard and has shaved off the sides of his head.

A clean fade on the sides and closely cropped hair completes the Brazilian’s new look. Fans have shared their reactions to the same, and it remains safe to say that they are not flattered.

Fans react to Neymar’s latest haircut

Neymar has managed to play only a handful of games for his new club Al-Hilal. The #10 only has 5 appearances and 4 G/A to show for a $102 million fee. A fan-made fun of the same, stating that he has had more haircuts than appearances since joining Al-Hilal. Others were fed up with his recurring injuries and sarcastically asked him to just ‘retire’.

Another fan was quick to notice Neymar’s ‘stern’ look throughout the video and opined that he was holding back tears. Others said that Neymar got the haircut that people get when their corners start receding. Numerous jokes regarding the player’s hairline could also be found in the comments. Some were just happy to see the player post again, but there were a few in the comments who said that his relevance is so far gone that he has to post trim videos.

A particular fan admired Neymar’s style and praised his choice of cut. While the footballing world expects a speedy return for Neymar, recurring injuries have plagued Neymar’s career throughout. Former Barcelona teammate Luis Suarez recently looked back at Neymar’s move to PSG back in 2017. The Uruguayan labeled the move a ‘mistake’. However, in hindsight, neither party benefited from the move and fans are left to wonder as to what could’ve been.
