In the pre-match press conference ahead of their clash against Brighton, Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola didn’t respond to any speculations regarding Erling Haaland.

Guardiola was asked in the press conference about the news of bringing Haaland from Dortmund with a record fee of £500,000 per week and a release clause of £63m to break his term from Dortmund. However, he refused to answer the reports regarding the probable transfer rumors.

“No answer to your question. I have another concern and business in my head right now than to think what will happen in this club next season,” said Guardiola in a pre-match press conference.

Pep Guardiola has been so direct about his answers that he throws away the question in such a commendable style. He clearly stated that he has other ‘important businesses’ to deal with at this moment.

Manchester City has lacked a positive goal-scorer after the departure of their star Sergio Kun Aguero last summer to Barcelona. City failed to sign the Tottenham talisman, Harry Kane, last year, but they feel that they could capture Haaland at any cost to use him as a lethal weapon.

Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City is on the verge of winning the Premier League title for the second season in a row

Manchester City will face Brighton in the midweek clash on Wednesday at home, in an attempt to extend their lead at the top of the table. They are well chased by Liverpool as they have a chance to move to the top if they defeat Manchester United on Tuesday. The race for the title is getting intense with City and Liverpool battle.

Manchester City was recently knocked out by Liverpool from the FA Cup semi-final tie in a cracking game of football. However, the two teams can clash in the finals of the Champions League 2021-22 yet again if the Sky Blues defeat Real Madrid and the Reds get the better of Villarreal in the semi-finals.
