Football fans were left shocked after an old video resurfaced on the internet and social media featuring former Arsenal player Nuno Tavares kissing his dogs with his tongue, described by fans as ‘licking’ his dogs.

A video of the Portuguese full-back kissing his dogs on their faces went viral. The left-back, currently on loan at Nottingham Forest from Arsenal, recorded the video in 2021 before joining Arsenal from Benfica. Originally shared in 2021, the clip started trending on X on Monday, sparking fan outrage. The video was deemed highly distasteful, and the player faced criticism for his actions.

Nuno Tavares, currently on loan at Nottingham Forest, is dealing with online trolling due to a viral video. Despite facing limited playing time, having made just six appearances without scoring or assisting, the 23-year-old is gaining social media attention for a video where he humorously lets his dog clean his gums. Fans found it amusing, highlighting that Tavares is making headlines for unconventional reasons rather than his on-field performance.

Around three to four clips of Tavares kissing his dogs were shared, as Nuno could be seen getting licked by his dog with his mouth wide open.

23-year-old left-back Nuno Tavares, who currently plays for Nottingham Forest, on loan from Arsenal, is being pursued by Ligue 1 side, Marseille. Marseille seek to resign the player for the season, after he spent the decent 2022-23 season at the club on loan, scoring six goals in 39 appearances for the French outfit.

Arsenal faces a tough decision in the transfer market regarding Tavares. Negotiating could be challenging because his loan agreement lacks a recall clause. This means he can’t return to Arsenal during the season unless Nottingham agrees to end his contract. The 15th-placed EPL team is short on full-backs due to players at AFCON.

Tavares last played for Nottingham on January 20, 2024, against Brentford. Having made only six appearances this season, he’s fallen out of favor and is keen to return to Marseille. Interestingly, he couldn’t convince OM to make the move permanent last summer.
