Oleksandr Zinchenko has been a stalwart for Arsenal this season. However, he faces big troubles back home in Ukraine. The Russian-Ukrainian war has taken a toll on the world. Zinchenko is one of the millions of people affected by the conflict. He gives out his comments in a bold interview with Piers Morgan.

“All Russian and Belarusian athletes should be banned from sport,” hits out Zinchenko. He does not hate the athletes but describes their inaction as hurtful. The interview continued with Piers enquiring, “If you played against a team with a Russian player, would you shake their hand after the game?” to which Zinchenko replied “No chance. No chance. I will never accept their reaction.”

“Some of them have millions of followers behind them. They’ve had a lot of chances to speak out. Don’t ever call us brothers again, like they did in the past,” he commented. Zinchenko also leaves this message for the world, “I’d like to send a message to the rest of the world. I know you are fatigued. Why is it important that we stick together and beat this terrorist invasion? Ukraine is a shield for the rest of Europe and you never know.. Today it’s Ukraine, tomorrow it could be your country.”

The Arsenal man also said that he will participate in the conflict if his nation needs him. He said: “If the time comes, everyone will be there. But at the same time: today, I’m much more helpful from here. But, you never know. This may be the last time we’re going to speak to each other. You never know.”

Mikel Arteta, the manager of Arsenal, has identified West Ham United captain Declan Rice as one of his top transfer targets, and there have been rumors that a deal is imminent. The initial bid from the Gunners is believed to have disappointed the Hammers since it had several clauses. After leading the Hammers to the Conference League championship, Rice looks on his way out.

Rice, who came up through West Ham’s youth setup, has appeared in 245 games and scored 15 goals for the club. He made his debut in the 2016–17 season. Rice participated in each of England’s five games at the 2018 Winter World Cup. He has received 41 caps for his country.

West Ham sources certainly anticipate more communication from Arsenal, but they are also preparing for a Manchester City offer. The futures of City captain Ilkay Gundogan and teammate Bernardo Silva are up in the air, which may prompt manager Pep Guardiola to look for new players. This can lead to both- City and Arsenal, engaging in a bidding war for the English midfielder.
