“One of the best team performance’s in Premier League history”- Trent Alexander Arnold on Liverpool’s quadruple chase

Regardless of what happens on Liverpool’s final-day league title struggle with Manchester City, Trent Alexander-Arnold believes the club’s quadruple conquest is one of the finest seasons in Premier League history.
Jurgen Klopp‘s side will meet Wolves at Anfield on Sunday, looking to win their second Premier League title after winning the EFL Cup and FA Cup and making the Champions League final. Liverpool, who are one spot behind City and with a lower goal difference, do need Pep Guardiola’s team to mess up against Aston Villa at Anfield to keep their dreams of an extraordinary quadruple alive.
Despite having 97 points, Alexander-Arnold was a cornerstone of the Liverpool side that finished second in the 2018-19 season, as City ended one point ahead of the Reds. Regardless of the result of Sunday’s title bout, the England international feels Liverpool’s work on four fronts this season constitutes a historic feat among Premier League clubs.
Trent Alexander Arnold’s words on Liverpool’s quadruple dream
“I was thinking ‘this is going to happen again’ back in March or April, but with seven or eight games left, you think surely someone has to drop a few points. We have [a 1-1 tie at home with Tottenham last month], but it’s been very level, and it’s all we could do. Consider how far behind we were in January, and how we fought back to put ourselves in an incredible position,” said Trent.
“To push as hard as we have in all competitions this season, I believe it is one of the finest collective performances in Premier League history. We’ve taken every trophy to the last game, that’s all you can really ask for, and I think it’s been a special achievement no matter what happens on Sunday,” added the Liverpool right-back.
If Liverpool avoids a loss vs Wolves, they will have gone undefeated in a Premier League season at Anfield for the fifth time, the combined most of any team (alongside Chelsea).
City, on the other hand, has won 10 of their past 13 Premier League campaigns (two draws, one defeat), and have not lost on the final day since a 3-2 setback to Norwich City in 2013, whereas the reigning champions have triumphed nine of their last ten Premier League meetings versus Villa.
