Paul Pogba at Manchester United

Paul Pogba is said to have rejected a transfer to Manchester City because he is afraid of an ‘uproar’ from Manchester United fans. Pogba’s contract with United runs out at the end of the season, and he is anticipated to leave on a free transfer.

Rivals Manchester City was one of several teams interested in Pogba, who was also linked with Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, and Juventus.

Pogba allegedly accepted personal terms with Manchester City, who were apparently prepared to match the midfielder’s contract expectations and give him the chance to contend for a starting spot under Pep Guardiola, according to The Times. Pogba, on the other hand, turned down the opportunity to relocate to the Etihad Stadium because he was apprehensive about the reaction of Manchester United supporters.

According to the source, Pogba was concerned that his career in the northwest would have become unpleasant as a result of the poor reaction to his move. Carlos Tevez was the most recent high-profile player to join City from United, and the Argentine quickly became a nemesis in the eyes of many United fans.

Pogba is set to join either Juventus or Paris after allegedly rejecting City’s offer two weeks ago. This week, his agents spoke with officials from his previous club, Juventus, where he played four productive seasons before transferring to United in a then-world-record £89 million deal in 2016.

Despite struggling to live up to the expectations since rejoining United, PSG is allegedly contemplating a deal for Pogba. Pogba has netted 39 goals in 233 appearances for United, winning just the Europa League and the Carabao Cup during his stay at the club.  Pogba said in March that his second tenure at United had been a challenging one.
