“Money can create war,” Paul Pogba reveals that he considered RETIREMENT amidst £11m extortion case
Pogba has had an injury-stricken start to his Juventus return.

French World Cup Winner, Paul Pogba recently revealed that he thought of retiring from Professional Football back in the year 2022. The ex-Manchester United player admitted to facing several intimidations against himself and his family over the course of several months. Both in Manchester and Turin, since the start of March 2022.
Even though his brother, Mathias Pogba, has pleaded innocent, he has been ordered not to contact his brother or use any social media either. He has left France. Talking to news outlet Al Jazeera in a show called Generation Sport, Pogba revealed the repercussions and effects that the extortion and threats left on him.
Pogba recounts how the event almost made him quit football. “Money changes people. It can break up a family. It can create war. Sometimes I was just by myself thinking, ‘I don’t want to have money anymore. I just don’t want to play anymore,” said the Frenchman to Al Jazeera interviewer.
Paul Pogba informed police that the gang that threatened the player demanded a payment of €13m in exchange for ‘protection’. The player paid the gang €100K on an occasion because they kept on demanding more money throughout the last year.

Pogba made an appearance for Juventus at the start of the season before picking up a new injury against Empoli and is already in rehabilitation.
Paul Pogba says that he will make the critics ‘eat their words’

Following an injury-stricken start to life in Juventus, Paul Pogba has been under constant fire from critics. As a poor stint at Manchester United followed by a return to Juventus. In Turin, the player picked up an injury in his first game back against Empoli. While speaking to Al Jazeera, hinting at a strong comeback, he said, “I’ll make the critics eat their words.”
Once the most valuable player following his move to Manchester United in 2016, injuries have held back Pogba’s career. His time at Old Trafford was marred with injuries and a lack of consistency. Constantly coming under the crosshair of Graeme Souness for his mistakes. Soon, the Frenchman became one of the most criticized players in Europe. But now, he hopes to leave all that behind and right his wrongs.

Pogba said that even though football is a beautiful game, the fans and critics can be cruel, especially at the highest level of football. He said that one day you can do something great but the other day, you’re nobody. Juventus face Lazio next while the club expects Pogba’s injury to not be too serious.
