While talking for YouTube Channel FIVE in an interview, Scholes weighed in on the debate. When asked who was better between himself and Steven Gerrard, the 48-year-old gave a brutally honest take on the same. Scholes said that Gerrard “is a great player.” He separated himself from the Liverpool legend, denying the interviewer’s claim that they could be compared.

When Harry Pinero- a YouTuber and Manchester United fan- asked Paul Scholes, “Do you think you could have replicated Gerrard’s success if you played for Liverpool?” Scholes humbly admitted that he could not. He also added that Gerrard on the other hand could have definitely been as successful as him playing for Manchester United.
