Darwin Nunez and Andy Cole
Former English footballer Andy Cole went to war with a Twitter fan. The Premier League legend was disappointed after he was compared with Uruguayan striker Darwin Nunez on the social media platform. The retired footballer did not like the Twitter user’s opinion and shut him down with a conceited reply.
The fan’s username was DaveOCKOP tweeted: “Nunez is a throwback to Andy Cole. Numerous misses but will get so many chances he’ll always end up with a lot of goals at the end of the season,”. Andy Cole did not like the way his name was casually tossed around online. “Cole…, Nunez…not sure we’re (where)this nonsense started!!!, but it’s Christmas, the festival season.. I am happily retired“. Andy Cole added.
The former English veteran boasted of his career achievements on Twitter while replying. “5 PL, 2 FA cups, 1 league ci[, 1 champions league, and 187 premier league goals. Life is what you make it,”. Cole did not hesitate for a second before showing his hustle off. Well, deservingly, the Manchester United legend had his bit of self-worth hiked after lashing out at the fan over comparisons with Darwin Nunez.
The fan was respectful after he offended Andy Cole and claimed that he did not doubt the quality Cole had back in the day. “You were a top player; you should have worded the original better.” The Twitter user replied. Although, Andy Cole still seemed disappointed. Cole reasonably asked people to have some respect for the career he has had.
“People need to stop disrespecting my name.. because I don’t play the game. Just a quiet guy is getting on with life. People think they can disrespect me. Look at the numbers and compare them to someone else’(Darwin Nunez).’ Andy Cole shut down all his haters and the online trolls with just a single tweet. The Twitter user did not reply to the English footballer after that.
