Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola firmly believes that Vincent Kompany would return to Manchester City as a manager by becoming a possible successor of Pep Guardiola. Kompany is being touted with a return to his former club as a manager sooner or later and his recent exploit with Burnley has only expedited the talks.

He will be back sooner or later, so I think his destiny to become a manager of Manchester City is already written in the stars,so it’s going to happen. Pep Guardiola said this after his side brushed aside Burnley in their 6-0 victory in the FA CUP quarter-finals. The words of the Spanish tactician sound more resonating after the extraordinary performance of Burnley in the EFL championship. The Clarets have secured promotion to the Premier League with seven games to go with 2-1 victory against Middlesbrough and with a brilliant season under the former City defender.

Burnley has been the best team in the championship this season. Kompany’s team has played an expansive brand of football, uncharacteristic of Burnley. Talking about his team, a very proud Kompany said, ” It’s Easter, there are seven games to go and we are already celebrating. We didn’t expect this. We wanted to experience this one day, but we had a different timing on it. Quicker is better sometimes.”

“Days like today happen more than you think, we found a way it was not easy at all. But somehow this season we ended up on the good side of the game,” the former Belgian captain added. “There is a belief in the team, and it is still a team that can improve. And it is the exciting part. They’re like kids, they’re celebrating like kids and that’s fun to see.”

Vincent Kompany’s side won 25 of their 39 matches played and lost only two games this season. They have scored the most with 76 and conceded the least with 30. The stat books for the team have an uncanny resemblance with the kind of authority Pep Guardiola-sides have often displayed.

The test of Vincent Kompany lies ahead in the Premier League when their true Pedigree would be tested against bigger teams of the Premier League, nonetheless his former side Manchester City led by Pep Guardiola who are chasing Arsenal this season.
