According to some reports, Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola received a lucrative offer to take over as the new manager of the Brazilian national football team after the 2022 Qatar World Cup.

This opportunity will give Pep Guardiola a novel chance to lead a national team, something only a few can fathom and fewer can live. Also, the former Barcelona boss has always shown interest in managing the Selecao from the times of his Barcelona sabbatical when he famously said, “I would leave my sabbatical tomorrow to join the Brazil national team.”

According to some sources, the Brazilian FA has put a four-year deal on the table for the Machester City boss to join the team as Tite’s successor which will see him lead the team at least till the 2026 world cup, which is to be held jointly in the USA, Mexico, and Canada and also at the Copa America 2024 in Ecuador.

When enquired about this prospect by the press Guardiola answered, “The next step will be a national team, yes, if there’s a chance, I must have a break after seven years (at City), I need to stop to watch, learn from other players and maybe that is the road I will take. … I would like to coach at the Euros, a Copa America, a World Cup.

He specifically gave his views on managing the Canarinho too stating, “It is a fantastic national team. Brazil is always a strong candidate or the favorite. It always was and it will always be.”

Further clarifying, the Spaniard explained that isn’t thinking about the future right now but instead wants to focus on his work in Manchester City. Pep Guardiola’s current contract with Manchester City expires at the end of the 2022-23 season, i.e. next year.
