The official order prohibits the travel of any individual claiming to be a supporter of Olympique Lyonnais or displaying such behavior between the municipalities of the Rhone department and Marseille on December 6, 2023. This emphasizes the genuine and significant risk of confrontations between rival fan bases.
The decree outlines the persistent threat to public order posed by certain supporters or individuals associated with Olympique Lyonnais, citing their frequent involvement in disturbances. The decision to bar Lyon fans underscores the broader challenges faced by French football in managing fan behavior.
