Piers Morgan produces ‘evidence’ that confirms Cristiano Ronaldo is the GOAT
Lionel Messi ,Piers Morgan and Cristiano Ronaldo
Piers Morgan has presented a list of evidence that he believes, proves that Cristiano Ronaldo is a superior footballer to Lionel Messi. Messi’s standout performance for Argentina against Croatia on Tuesday, resulting in a goal and two assists, was in contrast with Ronaldo’s Portugal side who were eliminated by Morocco in the quarter-finals.
Ronaldo’s World Cup career has been blighted by his inability to score in a knockout stage match. Despite Messi’s remarkable showings at this year’s event, Morgan is still firm in his conviction that Ronaldo should be considered the ‘Greatest Player of All Time’ and has now elaborated on why he holds that opinion.
Morgan told talkSPORT “Listen, I thought Messi last night was absolutely sensational. He’s one of the greatest players to ever play the game – the debate though, is ‘is he the greatest’?, And on that, I will always put up a very passionate and I think quite forensic defence of Ronaldo and why I think he deserves that title because one World Cup does not make a GOAT.”

Lionel Messi vs Cristiano Ronaldo the debate over who is the Greatest of All Time could be settled at this FIFA World Cup 2022
Throughout the years, the men’s football world has been blessed with some of the greatest players of all time. From Pelé to Diego Maradona, to the current stars Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, each generation has had its own contenders for the title of the best. In 2011, Messi was included in TIME’s 100 Most Influential People in the World, and this earned him the title of a “god of the field” from his former Barcelona teammate, Thierry Henry.
When Ronaldo made it onto the same list in 2014, Pelé had nothing but praise for the Portuguese player, commending his competitive spirit, grace, and imagination on the field, adding that he wished he could have played alongside him.
Two of the most decorated athletes in their respective sports have yet to complete the ultimate feat – winning the World Cup. Despite having broken countless records and won the most prestigious awards both on their own and as part of their teams, this feat has eluded them both. Every other accomplishment in their sport has been achieved, yet this one goal remains unfulfilled.
For Ronaldo, his hopes of winning the 2022 World Cup have come to a close, as he alluded to on social media. Although his team, Portugal, lost in the quarterfinals to Morocco on Saturday, Messi may be able to make a statement on who is the “greatest of all time” with an Argentina victory in the championship game against either France or Morocco on Sunday. Messi has already scored five goals in what he has stated will be his final World Cup.
