“Players who have signed for clubs like PSG have almost signed their slavery”: Barcelona President Joan Laporta fires shots at Neymar
Laporta and Neymar
In comments to L’Esportiu reported by Fabrizio Romano, Barcelona President Joan Laporta discussed the possibility of Neymar Jr departing from Paris Saint-Germain and coming to Camp Nou. However, he also took at the Brazilian legend and highlighted that players who sign for clubs like PSG often become their slaves as the only reason they go there is for money.
“Is there anyone who doesn’t like Neymar?” Laporta said while describing him as “an amazing player.” He further stated, “Players who have signed for clubs like PSG have almost signed their slavery. For money.”
FC Barcelona is coming out of a difficult season after the departure of their talisman Leo Messi earlier this season. They have ended their season trophyless and manager Xavi Hernandez will certainly look to reinforce his squad in the summer transfer window.
Is Neymar and Barcelona bound this summer?
Before the summer of transition, Neymar is said to be surplus to needs at the Parc des Princes. Following his choice to reject Great Madrid and stay at PSG, Kylian Mbappe has been given real influence, and it’s expected that there will be substantial activity at the club this upcoming season
And one such star who may be on his way is Neymar. The Brazilian decided to join PSG in the summer of 2017 – the very same transfer window as Mbappe – but his status has dropped drastically since then.
Injuries have hampered the 30-year-progress, old’s but it’s also true that since leaving Camp Nou for the Parc des Princes five years ago, his career has only gone backward. If he does leave Paris this summer, it’s unclear where he’ll go; based on Laporta’s statements, Barcelona does not appear to be a viable option.
Will Neymar be a good addition to the current Barcelona squad?
