In recent seasons, the English Premier League has cut down on clubs for potential breaches in financial fair play (FFP) as well as profit and sustainability rules. As part of the same, Everton have already been penalized in the form of a ten-point deduction. Now, another club, Nottingham Forest are under scrutiny for potential breaches as well.

However, fans have expressed their dissent and sheer outrage at the fact that a certain club is being let to “walk free” amidst all the existing allegations. Premier League giants Manchester City have been accused of breaching a whopping 115 breaches throughout 13 seasons. These include falsified reporting and non-compliance with the Premier League rules.

As per reports, Nottingham Forest are set to become the third club to be accused of breaching profit and sustainability regulations. Everton, despite being deducted ten points prior, may face a second penalty if found guilty.

It is understood that Nottingham may have to explain the £47.5 million sale of Brennan Johnson to Tottenham. Both Everton and Forest are preparing for mitigation and will deny all claims, as per reports.

Fans react to latest Premier League sanction rumors – call the league ‘rigged’

While Everton and Nottingham Forest may be hit with official notices as soon as Monday, Manchester City remain ‘uncharged’ as of today. Fans have taken to the comments to express their sheer outrage at the same as Pep Guardiola‘s side march on even after spending a total of €984 million in the past decade.

A significant majority of the comments questioned why the league was not taking action on City’s 115 pending charges. Others were worried about how Forest and Everton would fare if they were hit with point deductions. Focusing on Everton, fans were convinced that the club would not survive a second penalty. Some, however, laughed at Everton for not being able to catch a break.

Meanwhile, many labeled the League’s treatment of bottom-half teams as a ‘disgrace’. Certain Manchester City fans defended their club by stating that this had nothing to do with their team.

Chelsea were also dragged ‘in the mud’ for their excessive spending. Labels like rigged, disgraceful, and corrupt were thrown at the league. As it stands, Everton are 17th after the points deduction and Forest are 15th with 20 points.
