Premier League’s Twitter Account accidentally ‘Leaks’ Manchester City’s First Game Of The Season on Erling Haaland unveiling post

After reaching an agreement with Borussia Dortmund last month, the Blues have finally confirmed the transfer of Haaland. He joins the club for a reported £51 million, and the 21-year-old forward is excited to start his career at the English champions’ home.

And it appears he may know his first league opponents in the form of newly-promoted Bournemouth. This is according to Premier League’s official Twitter account’s reply to Manchester City’s post unveiling Haaland. Now a deleted post, @premierleague tweeted ‘Bournemouth’ with an hourglass and flowing sand emoji.

Bournemouth returned to the Premier League after finishing second in the Championship the previous season. The leak comes just three days before the official release with the Premier League set to release the official schedule on Thursday morning.

Erling Haaland’s interview after being revealed in Manchester City’s new home kit

Haaland will be looking to continue his prolific scoring ways after finding the net 86 goals in 89 games for Dortmund. Speaking to Man City’s website, the Norwegian international spoke of his excitement about working with Pep Guardiola and his ‘world-class’ teammates. 

“This is a proud day for me and my family. I have always watched City and have loved doing so in recent seasons. You can’t help but admire their style of play, it’s exciting and they create a lot of chances, which is perfect for a player like me.” he said in his first interview as a Manchester City player.

“There are so many world-class players in this squad and Pep is one of the greatest managers of all time, so I believe I am in the right place to fulfill my ambitions. I want to score goals, win trophies and improve as a footballer and I am confident I can do that here. This is a great move for me and I can’t wait to get started in pre-season.” he added
