After another summer transfer saga, Kylian Mbappe has chosen to stay put in Paris for at least another season. To the dismay of Madristas in particular, the Italian and Parisian goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma told the press conclusive assurance that the player will, in fact, stay in Paris. The player said, “Will Kylian Mbappé stay? Yes, yes, for sure.” This came as unfortunate information as the Los Blancos were holding on to the last strands of hope in the Mbappe transfer saga.

After initially convincing Madrid that the player was in fact heading home, negotiations with PSG broke down. The player sat out preseason as well as the season opener in Ligue 1 to force a move to the Spanish giants. However, Mbappe’s decision to not extend with PSG came to their distaste and resulted in friction with the management. Eventually, Mbappe chose to extend with PSG, at least for one more season, with an option to extend at the end. Mbappe is currently the first captain of the team.

Gianluigi Donnarumma commented that Mbappe is definitely staying while Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti said that the transfer market is shut for the Los Blancos. Mbappe to Madrid is not happening, at least for the time being.

After being isolated from the PSG squad for preseason and the Ligue 1 season opener, Kylian Mbappe has taken no time to return to his goalscoring self. Yesterday’s clash against Lens saw the Frenchman hit a brace in the second half. The player has 3 goals in his last 2 games and looks like his normal self again. After a contract issue saw the player sit out multiple games, his inclusion against Lens meant things were back to normal.

With 5 points, PSG currently sits in 4th position. Lens on the other hand drop to 15th. Next up, the Parisians face Lyon away from home on September 4. Fans will be anticipating another huge performance from their home-boy. But at the same time, it will be thought of as to where the superstar will be come next season.
