PSG’s new signing Hugo Ekitike’s old Twitter post resurfaces where he can be seen trolling Lionel Messi and lauding Cristiano Ronaldo
PSG
PSG announced the signing of Hugo Ekitike a few days back for a final fee of €30 million. The young 20-year-old striker was reportedly chosen in place of Cristiano Ronaldo as the club chose to invest in young players.
The youngster signed for the French giants from Reims a successful season with the club last term. In 26 appearances for Reims, he managed 11 goals and 3 assists. The player is not expected to leave on loan and stay with the team this season.
However, as the news of Ekitike broke out, so did some of his old tweets. Particularly the one where he trolls Messi against Karim Benzema and Cristiano Ronaldo. In the tweet, there is a picture of Leo Messi sitting on a cart being pulled by the likes of Mbappe, showing that the PSG star is getting carried by his teammates.
The other picture shows the likes of Benzema leading his team with his teammates while Cristiano Ronaldo is carrying Manchester United all by himself while their players are the ones on the cart.
Lionel Messi ready to stay at PSG and finally break out this season in France
The meme that Hugo shared on his Twitter earlier was actually quite popular. Majorly because while Cristiano Ronaldo enjoyed a decent individual season, the same can’t be said about Lionel Messi.
The Argentine took his time to adapt to Paris Saint-Germain’s system and the Ligue 1. Moreover, while he was quite creative for his aside, raking up assists, his start of the season was very poor in the French top flight.
Messi ended the season with 6 goals and 14 assists in 26 league appearances. A very under-par stat for one of the greatest players in football history. However, the player now looks set to take PSG by storm.
The 35-year-old has decided to stay in PSG despite rumours linking him to a return back to Barcelona or America. The player will hope that he can end his own European drought and help PSG bring the Champions League to Park de Princes next season.
