A shocking report claimed that the historical Old Trafford, Manchester United’s home ground could be demolished. The reports claimed that a Qatar-based investment group will rebuild the iconic Old Trafford in their bid for the Manchester United takeover. The project will cost a reported £2bn and sources close to the club claimed that it ‘won’t be a problem for the Qatari group.’
After huge protests from fans, Manchester United owners The Glazers announced they were open to offers for the club, back in November 2022. Since then, various parties have expressed their interest in buying the club. The club could be reportedly purchased for a record-breaking price for a sports franchise at a whopping £6 billion.
According to the Daily Mail, a Qatar investment group is preparing a bid for the Red Devils, which could lead to the Old Trafford having a “state-of-the-art,” refurb. “United’s owners are seeking more than £6 billion for the club, and there is the prospect of another huge bill to redevelop Old Trafford, or knock down the iconic venue and build a new state-of-the-art facility. Such a project could cost more than £2bn, but that would not be a problem for the Qatari group,” the statement mentioned.

A source stated, “These people are serious. They want to make sure that United are where they should be, there is a steely-minded determination to buy it and get it to where it should be.”
