Ralf Rangnick cites four ‘recommendations’ that will help Manchester United reach the next level, might create problems for Cristiano Ronaldo and Paul Pogba
Manchester United failed to convert points against their latest opponents Leicester City in the Premier League, settling for a 1-1 draw. Following this, their coach Ralf Ragnik had few words to say about his team after that match.
“I don’t think we have a lack of character but what was obvious in some parts of the game is that we were second best with regards to physicality, Whenever there was body contact, we were too often we were second best. This is something we have to get better at for the rest of this season but even more so for the next season,” said Rangnick.
“I do not think it is to do with mindset, it is to do with the DNA of players. It was about one on one duels, regarding the same was true with Fred and he is one of our physical and aggressive players but I am not only talking about this specific moment,” added the coach.
Later on, the Red Devils’ coach cited 4 recommendations from his side that he believes will strengthen the club.
The Rangnick Recommendations for Manchester United
- Improvement in Recruitment of players for the long term
- Building a good squad around the playstyle of the new manager
- Prioritizing Physical and Aggressive Players
- Scouting based on personality
Which players have been affected?
The players which directly came under scrutiny were Fred and Paul Pogba who may find themselves in trouble, especially after the flaws that led to a counter-attack goal for Leicester in the 63rd minute.
Also following this note we may see some players leaving the club, including the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Paul Pogba, Marcus Rashford, and Edinson Cavani, whom Rangnick might be referring to when he talked about “prioritizing physical and aggressive players.”
As of now, we may also see Ralf Rangnick leaving the role of interim Manager to take up a consultancy role at the club and thus directly being involved in the future signings and recruitment process.
