Raphinha and Robert Lewandowski’s registration in Barcelona hugely depends on Frenkie de Jong’s salary cuts: Reports
Raphinha, Lewandowski and Frenkie de Jong
Barcelona has stirred up controversy by making extravagant purchases while having a history of financial difficulties, but they may soon restore balance.
Barcelona has made a splashy summer of purchases, from Robert Lewandowski to Raphinha. This is remarkable given the club’s well-known financial woes.
La Liga’s strict player registration regulations are another source of worry, leading many to question how new players like Andreas Christensen, Franck Kessie, and others would be allowed to play for Barca in 2022–23.
Will FC Barcelona be able to register the new signings?
Frenkie de Jong won’t quit Barça, despite the club’s request that he accept a lesser wage so that it can sign the new recruits. However, the player has refuted these, acting as a “roadblock” for the entity.
The midfielder is one of the top prospects to quit the rows culés, but Barcelona’s financial issues with “fair play” cause them to recess the bulk of their salaries during the summer.
Several of the top teams in Europe have entered the “career” of the former Ajax midfielder at this point. The Manchester United team, whose new coach, Erik Have Hag, had previously given instructions to the Dutch on stage on Amsterdam soil and was the one who “taken out” the player with stronger performance, was the one who showed more interest in the “21.”
Javier Tebas, the head of the Liga, claims that he has been assured that Barcelona will resolve both their financial and registration issues in order to have their new players available; however, it is unclear whether this will happen before their opening Liga match against Rayo Vallecano on August 13.
The two largest acquisitions were Lewandowski from Bayern for a reputed €45 million and Raphinha from Leeds for about €58 million. Christensen and Kessie, respectively from Chelsea and Milan, have also joined on unrestricted moves.
With a deal for Sevilla defender, Jules Kounde already announced and talk of a bid for Chelsea captain Cesar Azpilicueta, Barca’s spending isn’t anticipated to finish there.
