Manchester United picked up an all-important win against Aston Villa on Tuesday. The Red Devils came from behind to win 3-2 at Old Trafford. Rasmus Hojlund netted the United’s third and the winner of the night, much to his joy and relief. This was evident in his post-match interview as Højlund labeled the win as “one of the best days” of his life.

Manchester United found themselves trailing 2-0 against Aston Villa in the 26th minute. The club hadn’t scored in its last 4 games and the goal drought was looming over the players’ heads. However, United #17 Alejandro Garnacho stepped up with two crucial goals to pull his side level. Rasmus Højlund then grabbed his first-ever Premier League goal emphatically to seal the victory for Manchester United.

I'm the happiest man alive right now. It was there in the celebrations as well. It's one of the best days of my life. It's been a while in the Premier League and now that I've got my first, hopefully I can keep going.
Said Højlund as reported by Dailymail.

The £72 million striker was yet to score for United in the Premier League despite making 14 appearances before Tuesday. The win couldn’t have come at a better time for the Red Devils after Sir Jim Ratcliffe took over the club on Monday.

Manchester United pick up crucial comeback win against Aston Villa

The Red Devils were winless in their last 4 games before the game against Aston Villa. Erik ten Hag was feeling the pressure as United were in dire need of a win on Tuesday. However, 2 goals within the space of 5 minutes saw United trail 2-0 in the 26th minute. A John McGinn free-kick and a Leander Dendoncker flick at the near post were enough to silence the home crowd.

However, United’s Argentine star Alejandro Garnacho took things into his own hands. The forward coolly finished off a cross from Marcus Rashford before his strike in the 71st minute took a generous deflection from a Villa defender. Things were heading in the direction of a draw when Rasmus Højlund’s moment of truth came.

The forward was the first to react to a loose ball in the box, sending a sublime volley beyond the reach of Emiliano Martìnez. He made no effort to conceal his relief in his celebrations, as he punched the air in pure joy. With the win, United now have 31 points to show from 19 games and sit in 6th position, one behind defending champions and eternal rivals Manchester City.
