Bayern Munich fullback, Alphonso Davies could be on his way to Real Madrid after rumors have spread that the player is yet to enter contract extension talks with his current club.

Joining Bayern back in 2018 from the Vancouver Whitecaps, Alphonso Davies could possibly end his time in Germany after Italian Sports Journalist, Fabrizio Romano has confirmed Real Madrid’s interest in signing the Canadian Superstar. Real Madrid initially signed Ferland Mendy to fill the role of the aging Marcelo.

However, the Frenchman has spent a considerable amount of his time at the club out with injury. This has led to Madrid looking for options elsewhere. Alphonso Davies’ transfer to Madrid could also hinge on his close relationship with David Alaba. Nedal Huoseh [Davies’ agent] confirmed:

Alphonso Davies’ rumor of leaving Bayern Munich is supplemented by the fact that the club has currently put his contract negotiations on hold. Nedal Huoseh further confirmed:

We were talking at the beginning of the summer with the sporting director and the former general director, but everything was put on hold.

With the fullback’s contract coming to an end in 2025, Real Madrid has emerged as the favorite to attain the player’s signature in the case of the player’s possible move to a different club.

For the time being, Alphonso Davies is currently still at Bayern Munich and is a mainstay in the starting XI with the club’s next game coming in the Bundesliga against SV Darmstadt 98.

Not turning 23 until early November, Alphonso Davies has been incredibly important for Bayern Munich since joining the club back in 2018. The player has been in the starting XI for all of Bayern’s games this season and is rarely subbed off when on the pitch.

Alphonso Davies has registered 3 assists this season for Bayern, all of which occurred in the Bundesliga. The Canadian is part of a defensive line that has only conceded seven goals in the league with only Eintracht Frankfurt conceding fewer goals.

In his short time at Bayern Munich, the player has established himself as one of the best fullbacks in the world. Only 22, the player already has the experience of winning several titles with Bayern Munich, playing an important role in their Champions League run in 2020.

Now with only a year and a half remaining on his contract, the player ends his time at Bayern next season if Los Blancos comes calling.
