Carlo Ancelotti was not short of praise for Jose Mourinho. Speaking to an interviewer for Serie A Radio, the Real Madrid boss showered praise for the Portuguese’s efforts over the past couple of years at AS Roma. Ancelotti said that he was impressed by Mourinho’s efforts at the club in spite of them not being among the premier clubs in the top 5 leagues.

In his first season at the club, the Portuguese led Roma to their first European title in well over a decade through the UEFA Europa Conference League. Ancelotti also lauded Jose’s connection with the fans and club. “It’s not surprising because Mourinho is an honest person and a great coach,” he said.

It should also be mentioned that the two-time Champions League winner had multiple offers from Saudi in the summer. Rather, he decided to stay with the Serie A side and build on what he had established recently. Roma, currently in 9th position, after a 2-2 draw against Salernitana, will be eyeing a Champions League finish this season under their Portuguese tactician.

Christian Pulisic made the move from Chelsea to AC Milan over the summer in which the club pocketed €22m in transfer fees. The player hit the ground running as he scored a banger just 21 minutes into his Serie A debut. After going through a bad spell at the London Club, Pulisic will hope he can keep up the momentum.

A 2-0 win in the season opener thanks to Pulisic and Giroud, Milan will now host Torino in their first home game of the 23/24 season. The 24-year-old will look to spread his wings as fans expect him to finally live up to his potential. Pulisic was also linked to Roma in a swap deal with Nicolo Zaniolo before negotiations collapsed.
