Real Madrid has qualified for the Round of 16 of the UEFA Champions League. The 14-time UCL Champions have booked their seat for the next round in spectacular fashion with a 3-0 win against S.C. Braga. Even though the away side initially threatened, goals from each of the front three players secured an easy win for the home side.

Brahim Diaz, an unused substitute in most games, made headlines after the player opened the scoring for the Los Blancos. After the game, the player was in high spirits as he spoke to the press. Even though Diaz only played 16 minutes in Real’s last 7 games, he made the start against Braga count.

He also praised the coach, Carlo Ancelotti for giving him confidence, saying that they’re all great players. The goal marked his second in just 2 starts for the club. Therefore, Brahim Diaz looked jubilant during the press conference.

Real Madrid qualify with win against S.C. Braga

Los Blancos secured qualification from the group stages as they beat S.C. Braga 3-0 at home. The game featured goals from Brahim Diaz, Vinicius Jr. and Rodrygo. However, Andry Lunin‘s performance on goal also turned heads. Braga opened the game on the front foot, creating chances and sharing the majority of possession. The visitors earned a penalty in the 6th minute as well.

However, the backup keeper kept the scores level through a spectacular diving effort. Real then capitalized on the game, with Brahim Diaz directing Rodrygo’s cross past Braga keeper Matheus Cunha. Real finished the game off in the second half thanks to two quickfire goals. Vinicius Jr. danced around the Braga defence, before slotting his shot perfectly last Matheus.

Only 3 minutes later, Rodrygo came up with Real’s third, as he scored his 17th Champions League goal for the club. Andriy Lunin put in an impressive performance as he kept out relentless efforts by the away side in the later stages of the game. The win places Real alone at the top, with 12 points from a possible 12. Braga are 3rd, with 3 points in 4 games.
