Real Madrid overcame Barcelona in the Super Copa Championship finals yesterday to win the basketball championship. In addition to playing defense, Walter Tavares achieved a double-double to aid Real Madrid in capturing the Spanish Super Copa Championship for the fifth time in a row.

Due to the tie result in regulation time, the outcome was decided in overtime. Barcelona was defeated 89-83 by Real Madrid (17-15, 12-22, 26-12, 16-22). The game took place in Seville. Real Madrid head coach Chus Mateo was holding his first title as their boss joined the squad this year.

Walter Tavares, the standout player for Real Madrid, dominated the contest with 24 points, 12 rebounds, and 5 blocks. He was also named the game’s most valuable player (MVP). Sertac Sanli led Barcelona in scoring with 21 points, 5 rebounds, and 14 assists, followed by Nicolas Laprovittola with 12 points and 14 assists.
