Real Madrid fans are convinced that Kylian Mbappe is joining the club after his contract expires at Paris Saint-Germain. Even though one may argue that the club has been behind his signature for the greater part of the last two seasons, rumors that the club is also going for Erling Haaland have put social media into a frenzy. While signing Haaland and Mbappe together sounds exciting, there is no solid ground made to sign the former as of now.

Mbappe communicated his decision to part ways with PSG a few days ago, making Real fans believe that he is certainly Madrid-bound. The likelihood of Mbappe signing for Real is significantly higher than that of Haaland, who is currently on a deal which keeps him at the Etihad till 2027. It is also reported that his contract involves a release clause of €200 million.

Looking back at Real Madrid’s recent signings, it is evident that the club is in no shortage of cash. However, it remains to be seen whether the club will make a move for the Man City striker. It can also be debated that both Haaland and Mbappe cannot function within the same team.

While the prospect of Haaland and Mbappe teaming up certainly looks exciting, several fans came up with a one-word summary of the situation – greed. A fan jokingly said that this is the greed that was mentioned in the Bible.

Others joked that it would certainly be ‘over’ for other teams if the deal materialized. A fan quickly joked that if Haaland was to be brought in, that would leave Endrick without a job at the club. He asked if the youngster was brought in with such hype just to ride the bench. Some said that Madrid President Florentino Perez was in his prime, pointing to the slew of big-name and big-money signings made in the last few seasons.

A 4-0 victory against Girona means that the Los Blancos are now five points ahead of second-place Girona and ten points above rivals FC Barcelona.
