Real Madrid‘s Turkish Wonderkid, Arda Guler faces yet another setback as the 18-year-old faces another injury since joining Los Blancos earlier this summer. Guler was on the bench for Real Madrid’s last two games against SC Braga and Rayo Vallecano however, was not called up by Carlo Ancelotti.
The Real Madrid boss spoke about the recurring injuries the player was facing in a recent press conference. He said:
Unfortunately, this happened before the game against Braga. It continues to bother him, it is not a serious thing… he is depressed because he wants to play. His sadness is quite normal, but we give him all the affection of the world. We don't hurry him up. His future is here.
Yet to make a single appearance since signing from Fenerbahce, owing to his injuries, many fans online have drawn comparisons to Real Madrid’s €150 million flop, Eden Hazard.
Although Real Madrid didn’t spend much on the Turkish player, fans are worried about his frequent injuries and limited playing time. Despite being on the bench, he wasn’t subbed in during a three-goal lead, causing upset among fans. In hindsight, Carlo Ancelotti’s decision seems justified.
Despite concerns about the player’s recurring injuries, Ancelotti expresses optimism about the youngster’s potential, affirming that he possesses great talent. Despite a minor injury, the Italian boss further says Guler has a promising future.
