Real Madrid Fans “Not Allowed” at Camp Nou as Barcelona Sell Out El Classico Tickets in Ten Minutes

This is the second time the Catalan giants have done this season alone

Real Madrid Fans “Not Allowed” at Camp Nou as Barcelona Sell Out El Classico Tickets in Ten Minutes

Barcelona has managed to sell out the tickets to the recent El Classico under just one hour on Wednesday. The Spotify Camp Nou, which will host one of the biggest rivalries in Europe between Barcelona and Real Madrid, will be full to the brim on March 19. However, no Real Madrid supporters will be welcome to the ground during the La Liga match, as the club has made it official through its ticket booking portal.

Barcelona has been back to their dominant best this season beating their arch-rivals on two occasions already while losing one. Barcelona was beaten by Los Blancos earlier in October and Xavi’s men would want to avenge their defeat. The Spotify Camp Nou stadium, capable of hosting close to 100,000 fans, will be raring to see their team in action. The tickets for the general public went up for sale in the morning and after just 10 minutes, the portal showed that all tickets were ‘sold out’.

The portal also sent out a notification stating, “Purchase for Real Madrid fans is not allowed. Access will be denied for fans wearing Real Madrid’s clothing or emblems.” This meant that Carlo Ancelotti‘s team will not be allowed any away support during the match. This is not a common practice in Spain, however, Barcelona have done this earlier this year when their Barcelona Femini hosted Real Madrid women. The club sent formal information saying, “Access will be denied to home fan zones to anyone with clothing or symbols of the visiting team. If anyone enters the stadium with clothing or symbols of the visiting team they will be relocated or removed.”

There is a chance for some of the fans to get some tickets later in the week when some season ticket holders will mark themselves unavailable to attend. Even in that case, Real Madrid fans will not get an entry in any legal manner to cheer for their club.

As the two most successful clubs in Spain, Barcelona and Real Madrid have been at each other’s throats for over a century. The team from the capital, Real Madrid has always represented the government while the Catalan giants have been the team of the ‘oppressed’. This has been the driving force behind the rivalry that borderlines enmity in the match.

The two have faced each other 252 times with Real Madrid winning 101 times. Barcelona, in the same interval, has won 99 times. Even in La Liga, Real Madrid has pipped the Blaugrana in 77 out of 185 attempts.

However, Barcelona has recovered since the early October loss at the Santiago Bernabeu. Since then, Xavi’s outfit has faced Ancelotti’s men twice and won on both occasions. In their latest meeting earlier this month, Real Madrid lost 0-1 owing to an Eder Militao own goal. To add insult to injury, Madrid lost in their own backyard.

Barcelona has fought back tremendously this season in the league under Xavi. Apart from their shock defeat to UD Almeria one week back, they have only lost to Real Madrid. The Catalans will go to play against Atletic Club in midweek but they are expected to win the match, based on form. At home, Barcelona has not lost a single game yet in the league. They have scored 25 goals and conceded just one goal in the process.

Things have not been so dominant for Los Blancos on the road. They saw three defeats in away fixtures till now with just five clean sheets in 13 games. With still nine points separating the two, Real Madrid would love to reduce the gap in the coming weekend
