Real Madrid has won the Copa Del Rey 2022-23 beating Osasuna in a thrilling game that ended 2-1. Brazilian youngster Rodrygo scored both goals for Los Blancos while Lucas Torro pulled one back for the minnows with a wonder strike in the second half. The club won this tournament after 9 long years of waiting.
Real Madrid came into the night as favorites against an Osasuna side featuring in just their second-ever cup final. Madrid put any hints of an upset to bed within three minutes. Rodyrgo fired Los Blancos into the lead from a close range. The Osasuna fans were making tons of noise in the early going. But their party atmosphere was quickly cut short by the Brazilian.
In the second half, the match took an interesting turn in the 58th minute. Real Madrid saw their lead getting equalized by Osasuna as Lucas Torro Marset scored. However 12 minutes later, in the 70th minute, Osasuna’s plans for a surprise turnaround were all but gone. Rodrygo scored another goal to give Real a 2-1 lead on Osasuna again. This was the final scoreline as Real’s defense was successful to keep the Osasuna attack at bay.
Real Madrid has won the Copa Del Rey for the 20th time now. They are on their way to face Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City in the UCL semi-finals on May 10, 2023, at Santiago Bernabeu.
