Liverpool midfield legend Xabi Alonso is strongly on Tottenham Hotspur‘s radar. The midfielder is considered as ‘No. 1 choice’ to take the place of the permanent manager. Tottenham Hotspur fired Cristian Stellini after the North London club lost embarrassingly to Newcastle United by 6-1 goals. 

Xabi Alonso began his managerial career back in 2022. The Spanish former midfielder emerged after taking Bayern Leverkusen to the sixth position in the table. The impressive performance didn’t merely end here but saw the Bundesliga team in the Europa Cup semifinal.

The North London club were initially targeting Julian Nagelsmann to take the spot of permanent manager. The club failed to persuade the former Bayern Munich manager as per the contract term. Now the Spaniard is on the top of their radar to take the spot.

Daniel Levy and Tottenham are currently also targeting Arne Slot. The Feyenoord boss has helped them to glide to the top of the Eredivisie. After Antonio Conte, the North London side has not appointed anyone as the top boss. Spurs fired Cristian Stellini while Ryan Mason’s second spell is not at all impressive after their match against Liverpool.

Mauricio Pochetino, the former PSG coach gets six months after Tottenham lost the final of the Champions League in 2019. The North London team lost 2-0 to Liverpool. The North London club accumulated only 14 points in the Premier League out of 12 games which became a reason of sacking

Jose Mourinho replaces Mauricio Pochetino. The Portuguese boss saw a short span of 5 months. Tottenham sacked the Portuguese boss in April 2021 a few days before the final match of the Carabao Cup. 

Daniel Levy’s board appoints Ryan Mason as interim manager in April 2021 for the rest of the season. In June 2021, Nuno Espirito gets a call for 10 games before getting sacked. Antonio Conte gets appointed immediately in November 2021. 

In 2023, the 18 months managerial position of Antonio Conte comes to an end. Cristian Stellini gets uplifted as interim manager without any success eventually getting defeated after a humiliating defeat against Newcastle United. Tottenham Hotspur will face Crystal Palace in the coming Premier League clash this Saturday.
