Real Madrid looks to target Bayern Munich’s Serge Gnabry, might have to pay €40m for the German: Reports

According to reports, Real Madrid is keen to sign German forward Serge Gnabry, who is currently playing for Bayern Munich. After failing to get Kylian Mbappe, Real Madrid may redirect their attention to buying Serge Gnabry from Bayern Munich in the summer. The German champion wants to release him for €40m as the release clause if Gnabry doesn’t show interest in extending his contract at the club.

Since the start of the season, Serge Gnabry has been in talks with Die Roten about a new contract. Since Gnabry had moved to Bavaria, it was thought that the discussions would be straightforward. The prolonged contract negotiations are said to have harmed Gnabry’s performance on the field. Real Madrid would be satisfied if they get Gnabry after missing out on Mbappe.

Arsenal has been linked with a transfer for Gnabry, alongside Real Madrid. However, Arsenal’s lack of Champions League action next season drastically diminishes Gnabry’s prospects of returning to North London. The majority of Arsenal supporters would like to see Serge Gnabry return to the club this summer.

After leaving Arsenal under Arsene Wenger after failing to secure a regular starting berth, the German international has gone from strength to strength. Real Madrid will look for their next ‘Galactico’ acquisition after missing out on Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappe, as the former signed for Manchester City, and Mbappe made a u-turn to stay back at PSG after agreeing to a deal with the Los Blancos.

Real Madrid signs Antonio Rudiger from Chelsea

Antonio Rudiger joins Real Madrid from Chelsea.

Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger has joined Real Madrid on a free transfer. The 29-year-old German international has agreed to a four-year contract at the Bernabeu and will join when his Premier League contract expires on June 30.

The German defender will be introduced as a Real Madrid player on July 20, spent five seasons at Chelsea, winning the FA Cup in 2018, the Europa League in 2019, and the Champions League in 2021, and left Chelsea at the end of the season as he rejected the club’s offer of a contract extension.

After signing David Alaba from Bayern Munich last year, Madrid has taken advantage of the availability of a top-level defender on a free transfer for the second consecutive season. Under coach Thomas Tuchel, he developed into one of Europe’s top central defenders, starting in Chelsea’s 1-0 Champions League final victory over Manchester City in May 2021.
