After having an unforgettable year, 23-year-old footballer, Julian Alvarez has naturally been on the radar of some of the biggest clubs in the world. The Manchester City striker started the season by scoring City’s first goal against Liverpool in the Community Shield. Now, reports say Real Madrid has made contact with Alvarez’s camp in a possible attempt to sign him in the upcoming window.
Alvarez struggled for his place but lost to Erling Haaland when he initially signed for the Cityzens. Meanwhile excelling for Argentina, with whom he also won the World Cup. Being the only City player to win the WC last season, he chipped his chances of featuring in games this season. Alvarez was expected to allure with his performances and goalscoring. And he has not failed to impress Pep Guardiola.
However, the stakes of performing at a higher level always run the chance of being wooed by European legacies. At least big clubs who want to bolster their squads with the best talents. He even played for the Real Madrid youth team when he was hardly eleven. Now, Alvarez is rumored to be a potential move to Los Blancos.
The Spanish giants have struggled to find a pure number nine since Karim Benzema left. Even Kylian Mbappe continues to flirt like he seemingly has been for the past couple of years. Irrespective of Madrid’s interest, City would not want to let go of one of the best talents in the world right now. Filling in the shoes of someone like Kevin De Bruyne in his absence is not everyone’s cup of tea. But Alvarez has done well.

Manchester City’s ‘unique’ all-round player Julian Alvarez
Julian Alvarez, the Argentine sensation at Manchester City, continues to impress with his multifaceted contributions to the team’s success. City’s manager, Pep Guardiola, hailed Alvarez’s attributes, stating, “He knows exactly where the other players are, the movements, everything he does.”

Alvarez, who was signed from River Plate last winter, has seamlessly transitioned into English football. Despite his striker background, he can adapt his style and play a more dynamic role when needed.
While he may not be a traditional midfielder, Guardiola recognizes the value Alvarez brings to the team, acknowledging that he could be the missing piece in certain game situations. The challenge for Guardiola is to find the best way to utilize this ‘unique’ player’s talents and fit him into an already star-studded squad.
