WATCH: Rodrygo hits the SIU celebration after scoring in Real Madrid’s 5-1 thrashing of Valencia in La Liga

Real Madrid took on Valencia in La Liga on Saturday. The Los Blancos came through with a comprehensive 5-1 thrashing of Los Ches at the Santiago Bernabeu. Carlo Ancelotti deployed Vinicius Jr. and Rodrygo Goes on either wing and to his delight, both wreaked havoc against the visitors. Both the #7 and #11 scored a brace on Saturday.
Rodrygo‘s goal celebration after his first goal caught the attention of fans on social media. The youngster picked up the ball outside the box before dribbling into the area and placing his shot past Giorgi Mamardashvili. He then hit the iconic ‘SIU’ which the Bernabeu has been witness to on numerous occasions thanks to Cristiano Ronaldo.
Rodrygo has earlier revealed that Ronaldo is his footballing idol. He has imitated the ‘SIU’ on previous occasions as well, such as the Champions League tie against Chelsea last season.
His brace against Valencia helped Madrid rise to 32 points, but are second to Girona in the table. Girona have 34 points from 13 games and sit alone at the top.
Vinicius Jr. scores brace; hits another iconic Ronaldo celebration
Real Madrid ran through a depleted Valencia side at the Santiago Bernabeu. At the heart of the display was Brazilian winger Vinicius Jr. The #7 turned up with 2 spectacular goals, just before and after the halftime break. The duo of Vinicius and Rodrygo were in spectacular form with the two sharing 6 G/A between themselves.
After the game, Rodrygo commented that the duo that Madristas want are “back”. He said:
It was the perfect game... If the fans are happy, we are happy.
The club comfortably cruised past the visitors in the absence of Jude Bellingham and Antonio Rudiger. Vinicius Jr. also hit a classic Cristiano Ronaldo celebration for his first goal. He was seen doing Ronaldo’s ‘calma calma’ at the Valencia crowd.
The Brazilian dived across to meet a swooping cross from Rodrygo. The ball hit the player’s chest before hitting the post and going into the net. His 2 goals earned Madrid another important win on the night. He followed it up with a marvelous strike from outside the box to beat the Valencia keeper at his near post. Fans on social media are buzzing, with many claiming that “classic Vini” is back.
