Real Madrid set to part ways with Audi after 19 years; to sign a new intriguing deal with BMW: Reports

Audi, a major sponsor of Real Madrid since 2003, will no longer be associated with the white side of Madrid as of July 1. The contract, which is set to expire on June 30, will not be renewed by the two parties after the leaders of Madrid and the German automobile behemoth failed to reach an economic agreement at the end of last year.

With the new Bernabeu on the horizon, Los Blancos’ influence will grow even more while Audi plans to reduce its involvement with football teams in order to focus solely on Bayern Munich. Audi, which had a commercial agreement with Madrid at the second level, will no longer be a sponsor 19 years later.

The Merengue, on the other hand, will not have one less sponsor as a result of Audi’s departure. According to Marca, Real Madrid has already found a replacement for Audi and has reached an agreement with BMW, who will serve as one of the team’s primary sponsors and will be responsible for providing cars to the first-team players. Madrid will reveal the new sponsor by the next week.

What benefits will automobile giant BMW enjoy by sponsoring 14-time European champions Real Madrid?

Real Madrid Audi

Munich-based BMW, which also owns Mini and Rolls-Royce, is Europe’s leading seller of high-end vehicles, ahead of Audi, Lexus, and Mercedes. It is also a premium sponsor of AC Milan and has provided cars to the Italian team’s footballers since last year when the German brand decided to enter the world of football in the same way that Audi did at the turn of the century.

It has now taken another step forward with the agreement with Real Madrid, as it will have a prominent place in the club with 14 European Cups and in the new Santiago Bernabéu. Audi, for example, had a presence on the stadium benches as well as other stadium areas and in Valdebebas, in addition to providing cars to the first team players.

It also named some of the summer competitions in which Real Madrid is contractually required to participate but will, logically, have no representation for the upcoming season. The agreement with BMW, for which economic data has not yet been released, will be similar in terms of presence at Real Madrid.

Real Madrid’s revenue is increasing in this manner, and it will increase exponentially once the new stadium is completed in June 2023. The club expects revenue to increase by about 300 million euros as a result of the stadium’s use throughout the year. Furthermore, BMW is expected to play an important role in the new stadium.
