Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti has opened up about his thoughts on today’s UCL semi final clash against English counter-part Manchester City. Both the teams have come this far defeating tough opponents in the Quarter finals. On one hand, Real Madrid played and thrashed out-of- form Chelsea. And on the other hand, Manchester City came up trumps against German giants Bayern Munich.
In the pre match interview, Ancelotti has shown his concern about facing Pep’s Manchester City. When asked about stopping City’s striker Erling Haaland, Ancelotti said, “We don’t plan a game to stop one player, it’s to stop a team that is very dangerous. At the point Man-City looks unstoppable“.
Real Madrid and Manchester City would face each other at Santiago Bernabeu today. Man City has been having a season so far and would look forward to winning a treble by winning the UCL trophy this year. Real Madrid who are the record 14 times winner of this tournament would look forward to extending the number by making it 15.
Manchester City faced Real Madrid in the UCL semi-finals in last year’s campaign as well. Real Madrid lost 4-3 in the first leg against the Premier League champions at the Etihad Stadium. Although they turned the whole equation around after an astounding comeback in the second leg. They won 3-1 at Santiago Bernabeu, which made the aggregate 6-5. Manchester City will reportedly try to take last year’s revenge. But will they be able to? Or will the Spanish giants will again be the wall between them and the finals?
