Real Madrid’s €60 million player Luka Jovic set to join Fiorentina permanently with a 50% sell-on clause: Reports

Fiorentina are set to sign Real Madrid’s Luka Jovic on a permanent basis this summer. While there was speculation that La Viola were about to sign Jovic on a loan deal, Gianluca di Marzio has stated that the move will be permanent.

Documents for the striker’s permanent transfer to Fiorentina have now been exchanged, with the striker expected to complete his move by July 9th. The transfer is notable in that Real will pay the player’s salary for the next two seasons rather than paying a compensation fee or Fiorentina paying a transfer fee.

Jovic will have the option of staying at Fiorentina or leaving after two seasons. If he stays, Fiorentina will have to pay him twice as much as he did at Real in his first two seasons. If La Viola sells the player, Real will receive 50% of the proceeds.

La Viola are not expected to sign Krzysztof Piatek on a permanent basis and they would need another striker to play as back-up to Arthur Cabral next season. Prior to the Jovic speculation, La Viola were linked with a move for Milan Djuric, who is now set to move elsewhere.

The former Eintracht Frankfurt marksman is expected to fly into Florence next week to complete his medical examination and sign his contract. He will join fellow Serbs Nikola Milenkovic, Aleksa Terzic and Matija Nastasic. The 24-year-old has failed to click in the Merengue jersey, scoring just 3 goals in 51 caps throughout three seasons.
