“Call Doctor Ramos; Got what he deserved”- Real Madrid’s Fede Valverde gets backed by fans on social media after Alex Baena controversy

Reports emerged following the Yellow Submarine’s shock 3-2 win over Real Madrid that Valverde had waited in the car park to confront Baena about taunting his wife’s miscarriage scare earlier in 2023. This confrontation would reportedly lead to Valverde punching Baena. The winger has now decided to press charges against the Madrid player.

Valverde will not be charged with immediate sporting punishment for the incident since Villarreal has decided to not report the incident to the Spanish Football Federation and it was not included in the referee’s report. Nevertheless, Villarreal confirmed in a statement on Sunday night that the police will now be involved and that could leave a way open for Spain’s Anti-Violence Commission to get involved.

Baena had indicated to local journalists on Sunday morning that the matter would be laid to rest without any further action taken. But he changed his mind and his club has said they will back him in his decision. The club’s first reaction after Valverde punched Baena was to leave the decision to their player.
