Real Madrid and Brazil winger Rodrygo, on Sunday, revealed the reason behind his “I” celebration that he did after scoring in the Copa Del Rey finals against Osasuna. He said his celebration was dedicated to the children suffering from cancer at Juegaterapia.
In a recent interview, Rodrygo talked about the reason behind his unorthodox celebration after he scored the brace against Osasuna in the Copa Del Rey final victory. Rodrygo reportedly said, “My celebration? It was for Ignacio, a kid I visited the day before yesterday at Juegaterapia, where there are children with cancer. He asked me to do the ‘I’ if I scored. It was for him”.
Rodrygo and Real Madrid are now preparing to face Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City in the UCL semi-final first leg at Santiago Bernabeu on May 10, 2023. Real seems to be on the right track. The recent Copa del Rey victory must have boosted the morale in the team’s dressing rooms after a not-so-good La Liga season.
It is to be seen if Carlo Ancelotti’s Madrid can beat Manchester City for the second consecutive time in the semi-final. If they are able to do so, then they will find their way to the finals in Istanbul. The final is scheduled to be played on June 11, 2023.

Eden Hazard set to stay at Real Madrid for another season
Eden Hazard has reportedly revealed that he will see out his contract at Real Madrid. He has confirmed that he will not be departing the club this summer. The Belgian became the most expensive signing in Real Madrid’s history. He joined the club for £ 130 million in 2019. Hazard signed a five-year deal worth £400,000 per week.
However, since joining Real Madrid, Hazard has not succeeded to replicate the scintillating performances that made him so revered at Stamford Bridge prior to his departure. Talking about leaving Real Madrid, Hazard said, “I have a good relationship with the club and with the players too. I want to play, but I know it’s very difficult. I have to work and hope I can play more”.
Hazard has registered just four league goals in as many seasons since making the move to the Bernabeu. And he has reportedly found himself rarely utilized since Carlo Ancelotti returned to the club in 2021. He has just played a total of 331 minutes across all competitions for his club this season. However, arguably the nadir of Hazard’s time in the Spanish capital came during his only league start of the season against Mallorca in September.
