Real Madrid’s star defender sues Google, Facebook, and ex-girlfriend demanding a staggering $45,000 compensation: Reports
Éder Militao and Karoline Lima
Real Madrid defender Eder Militao filed a lawsuit in court against influencer Karoline Lima as well as Google and Facebook, seeking R$ 45,000 in moral damages. The footballer also made an effort to prevent his ex-girlfriend from criticizing him online. The player claims the influencer has been enticing followers to spread persecution and damage her reputation on the network.
The Brazilian national team has also called up Eder Militao, who split from Karol on July 6 while she was 38 weeks pregnant. Militao has come under fire for allegedly deserting his ex and her daughter Cecilia.
The defender submitted a petition for urgent guardianship of an injunction, asking that his ex-girlfriend refrains from posting disparaging remarks about him on social media. Judge Eliana Adorno de Toledo Tavares repeatedly rejected the request since the player’s defense failed to include any posts from Karoline during the proceeding.

Lawyer Newton Ferreira, who represents the defender, made the following comments during the proceeding, to which the sources has access:
“Militão has been suffering abuse and constant aggression to his personality on social networks, mainly through the Instagram application. Such harassment is occurring constantly and unexpectedly through Karol, who uses his personal account, through his profile and comments that are directed directly to the person of Militão on the aforementioned social network, exposing publications, videos, stories with the sole purpose of wearing down the image of Militão, accompanied by a speech with a pejorative content.”
The ownership of Instagram, the social network where the remarks were published, by Facebook was mentioned. In addition to asking for the process to move forward in secrecy of Justice, the player attached news prints on Google that were thought to be damaging to his reputation. This request was rejected. The athlete, influencer, and companies must convene at the conciliation hearing, which the judge has set for February 2023, to attempt and come to an arrangement.
About two months ago, when the Ceará influencer was about to give birth to Ceclia, who was born four days after the breakup, Karoline Lima and Éder Milito called it quits. In contact with the source’s report , Karoline Lima’s lawyer, Gabriella Garcia, said that her client is dismayed. “She doesn’t want to appear. She was not properly cited, the citation was sent to Éder’s house, in Brazil. She is still absorbing everything, but we are already committed to preparing our defense”, she said.
Days prior to Cecilia’s birth, on June 30, the lawsuit was filed. Karoline was unaware of this, however, as the order was dismissed by the magistrate Eliana Adorno de Toledo Tavares even before the influencer was named. The judge recognised that the case file’s contents did not provide evidence that Karol had incited Milito’s enemies.
In the present case, from the elements brought to the file so far, no publication or comment made by the defendant Karoline that culminated in inciting the conduct of third parties is extracted. wrote Judge Eliana in her decision. The magistrate once more rejected Éder’s request for reconsideration along with his representatives.
“Karol never wanted to harm Éder’s career, on the contrary, and all this will be demonstrated in our defense”, said lawyer Gabriella Garcia. In the final stretch of pregnancy, Karoline used her social networks to vent about the difficulties of the moment and also about her relationship with the defender of Real Madrid and the Brazilian team.
In June, while in pain, the influencer told her followers that it was possible to find Militão in the “best clubs in Miami”. After that, the player still came to Brazil to spend a few days with his family and friends, but he didn’t post anything with the influencer. Karoline added that she attempted to maintain the relationship due of her kid after the player returned to Madrid but realised there was no way and that “it was no longer giving”.
