Spanish footballer Gabri Veiga has made headlines following news of his transfer to Saudi club Al-Ahli. The trusted Italian journalist, Fabrizio Romano broke the news of the Spanish youngster moving to the Saudi Pro League after a spectacular season at his boyhood club, Celta Vigo. Following the news of his transfer, Real Madrid maestro Toni Kroos expressed his feelings regarding the move. The player commented “embarrassing” under Fabrizio’s post who broke the player’s transfer.

After a summer of being linked to European giants like Chelsea and Liverpool, the youngster’s decision to move to Saudi has come to the surprise of players and fans alike. Breaking the trend of moving to a bigger club in the top 5 leagues following a breakout season, Gabri Veiga chose Al-Ahli as his next destination.

Contrary to Toni Kroos’ opinion, Celta Vigo coach Rafa Benitez opines that players have started taking to Saudi more frequently than earlier and that the idea of looking at Saudi as a retirement home should be stopped.
