“Another sad episode” – Vinicius Jr. woefully reveals he faced RACIST chants against Sevilla

Real Madrid star Vinicius Jr. has been no stranger to Racism on the pitch. The 23-year-old has come forward to reveal instances of racist abuse on more than one occasion. He has publicly lashed out against La Liga. Moreover, he has expressed his displeasure with the league’s unwillingness to counter the racism in their league.

Subsequently, the player has now revealed that he faced racist abuse in yesterday’s match. Sevilla hosted Real Madrid at home on Sunday. The hosts pulled off an unlikely point while managing a 1-1 draw. Things got heated with Vinicius Jr. after he pushed Ørjan Nyland in an attempt to take the ball. This however resulted in a tussle involving several players.

He was involved in a huge brawl, with several Sevilla players. Lucas Ocampos, Sergio Ramos, and Ivan Rakitic were involved in the same. Moreover, Eduardo Camavinga and David Alaba also got involved in the fight.

However, following the game, Vinicius shared a picture of a man mocking him, making monkey gestures. The player shared the image on his Instagram with disgust.

“Sad reality”- Vinicius opens up about the racism faced against Sevilla

Following the game, Vinicius Jr. released a lengthy comment on his disgust with the rising Racial abuse in the Spanish league. The player initially congratulated Sevilla for their quick positioning and penalty on the whole situation of an earlier incident. But then went on to share his deepest concerns about similar incidents from Saturday’s game.

The Brazilian’s messages were more of a show of concern than a complaint, as he mentioned that this time it was a child who carried it out.

Unfortunately I have access to a video of another racist at this Saturday's game, this time carried out by a child. So sad there is no one to educate her.

Vinicius Jr. wrote on his socials

Moreover, Vinicius admitted that he invests a lot of money into the education of ‘people with different attitudes’ in Brazil. He further said:

The face of today's Racist is stamped on websites as it has been for a long. I hope Spanish authorities do their part and change legislation for once. These people need to be criminally punished too. 

He noted that this would be a great first step towards preparing for the 2030 World Cup. Vini concluded his statement by apologizing for repetitively mentioning this. But he said that this is ‘episode no.10 and counting’…

During the game, Vinicius Jr. was consoled and calmed down by Jude Bellingham. The draw meant that Atletico Madrid are now in touching distance of Los Blanocs, only 3 points behind in the La Liga table, with a game in hand.
