“Reminds me of Mike Tyson”- Erling Haaland can become ‘more lethal’ after team-mates adapt to his gameplay, feels ex-Premier League player
Troy Deeney and Erling Haaland
Manchester City striker Erling Haaland, has been receiving accolades from many, including Troy Deeney, who compared him to a football legend. Deeney compared the City striker to legendary boxer Mike Tyson because of the way that Tyson would defeat his opponent before they ever entered the ring.
Troy Deeney said: ”This phenomenal Norwegian reminds me of Mike Tyson in his peak years – where opponents were mentally beaten before they even got in the arena.”
Deeney believes that Haaland might outperform all of Thierry Henry, Didier Drogba, and Mo Salah in terms of how they altered the job of a forward in English football.

Troy Deeney believes Erling Haaland is the most complete striker
”In fact, he could soon turn out to be the best of the lot,” said the former Birmingham City striker. In just eight Premier League games so far this season, the summer acquisition has scored 14 goals, and, concerningly for defenders, Deeney believes he is only getting started.
”You might say I’m crazy but I think the Norwegian could actually become even more lethal when his team-mates become more accustomed to his game.”
”Gradually, Haaland’s team-mates are getting more used to what he does, he could end up scoring at an even more alarming rate.” Haaland will take a break while the World Cup is going on—was also brought up by Deeney.
”Then don’t forget that, while most elite Premier League stars will be toiling at the World Cup in November and December, the Norwegian will probably be enjoying a fortnight on a beach in the Maldives. And, if it’s even possible, he might come back with his appetite for goalscoring even stronger.” Deeney said.
