On social media, journalist Gerard Romero said that Barcelona is having serious financial difficulties and is unable to find the money to make moves. The source claims that neither the club’s salary nor any funding for new players are accessible. The situation will be discussed this week by the Barcelona managers.
Barcelona’s money crunches have been visible to the whole world for a huge time. They had to let their most iconic player, Lionel Messi leave when they could not manage to keep paying him. Thus in 2021 Messi left Barca for PSG. The Barca board was under fire for their mismanagement of funds. Now it is Barca board headed by Joan Laporta who are trying to improve the situation.
And according to Romero, the financial problem still persists, with Barca lacking funds to chase players like Marcelo Brozovic. “With all due respect, but I think that many media outlets and journalists are not being realistic about Barça’s situation and signings. As of today we can’t afford to pay €20m for Brozovic. How will we pay his salary? And so on with other targets of the club.” said the journalist.
Although Barcelona had a successful season the last year. The club won the La Liga for the 27th time in their history. Manager Xavi has created a successful team at Barca. He received further reinforcements in the form of Ilkay Gundogan, who joined the club this summer. However, if the club has to remain competitive, Xavi needs more players in this transfer market and that looks unlikely at the moment.

Bayern Munich dreams of acquiring Barcelona star
According to reports, Bayern Munich is prepared to make a startling offer of €105 million to acquire Frenkie de Jong from Barcelona. The German titans are committed to bolstering their team. To strengthen their midfield, they have identified the Dutch midfielder as a top target.
Bayern Munich had a disappointing season last year, with league weaknesses and early exits from the Champions League and German Cup. Thomas Tuchel and the club’s management are eager to recruit important players during the summer transfer window as a result. Tuchel has singled out Frenkie de Jong as a player who would fit in perfectly with his style of play at the Allianz Arena.
Barcelona won’t likely consider letting De Jong go, despite how alluring the deal may sound. Manager Xavi Hernandez sees a midfield quartet consisting of De Jong, Pedri, Gavi, and Gundogan, who recently arrived at Barca. In light of Barcelona’s goals, it is unlikely that Joan Laporta, the club’s president, would accept Bayern Munich’s offer, regardless of its size.
